Sustainable Tourism
The concept of Sustainable Tourism is that local communities should be preserved in the face of rampant global tourism.
With sustainable tourism, the local community retains control of their own culture, the culture they display to tourists, and the balance of visitor versus local oriented businesses in tourist hotspots. Sustainable tourism helps communities retain control of tourism, in general, by promoting authentic cultural experiences, spreading out tourists over a larger area, and attracting tourists to businesses that exhibit the cultural values that the local government and citizens want to encourage.
